Kelly Stephenson BSW, MSW, RSW

I have been a registered member of the OCSWSSW since 2009, have a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, as well as an Honours Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University. I provide virtual individual and couples therapy and strive to create a safe nonjudgemental environment in which to support you on your therapeutic journey. I understand, through my own personal therapy, how challenging it can be to do the work. Which is why I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure they feel heard, understood, validated, celebrated and on track toward achieving their goals.

Experience

I have been working in the field of social work since 2001. I have experience in a variety of settings, including supporting students at the University of Toronto, several years at walk in clinics in the city, and three years at a busy Toronto private practice. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self esteem, challenges with gender and sexual identity, sexual abuse, grief, trauma, boundaries, addiction, suicidal ideation, chronic illness, and a wide variety of relationship issues. My approach is holistic and client centred, focusing on each individual's unique needs and strengths. This practice is 2SLGBTQIA+ positive and welcomes diversity of any kind. I am a sex positive therapist, which means I view sexuality as an important part of a healthy life, and provide a judgement free space in which to support and develop healthy sexual expression. I am passionate about helping people improve their mental health, sexual health, and overall well-being.
