Extended Health Benefits
Many health plans provide mental health coverage for services provided by Registered Social Workers. Please contact your benefit provider to inquire about coverage. After providing service, you will be provided with a receipt that includes the relevant information your benefits provider will need, so you can submit it to receive reimbursement
Fees
Individual therapy fees are $175 per 50 min session and couples fees are $300 per 80 min session. Social Work services are HST exempt.
Medical Expense Tax Credit
All out-of-pocket expenses for therapy with a Registered Social Worker can be claimed as a Medical Expense on your income tax. Contact the Canada Revenue Agency, or your accountant, for more details.
Confidentialty Policy
In accordance with the ethical guidelines and standards of practice set out by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, all aspects of client involvement in therapy will be held in confidence. Personally identifying client information is not discussed or disclosed, directly or indirectly, without prior written consent from the client. All limits to confidentiality will be reviewed during your first session.
Payment
Fees are due on the date of your session. Payment is accepted through e-transfers or credit card via the Jane app. A receipt will be issued once payment is received. Please retain these for your insurance or income tax claims.
Privacy Policy
All documentation, electronic as well as hard copies, are safely stored and protected in adherence with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
Referrals
Self-referrals are always welcome, as referrals from physicians are not required. Referrals from other health care professionals are also welcome, including family physicians, nurses, naturopaths, massage or physiotherapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other social workers.
Cancellation Policy
48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment, as this allows time to offer the appointment to other clients on the waiting list. If 48 hours notice is not provided you will be charged the full fee, or a partial fee, for cancellations or missed appointments.
Theraputic Fit
If at any point during your therapeutic journey you feel this is no longer a good fit for you, feel free to let me know so I can make referral recommendations.
